Packaging Development Projects

Packaging is often the first — and most important — brand impression. Across every product line I've managed, I've led the end-to-end packaging development process, from initial concept and structural brief through regulatory review, vendor production, and final approval.

The Process

For each project, I partner with design, operations, and vendor teams to bring packaging from concept to shelf. That includes writing creative briefs, managing dieline reviews, overseeing nutrition label compliance, and ensuring artwork files meet retailer-specific requirements.

What I’ve Worked On

  • Licensed collection packaging for Disney®, Crayola®, and Star Wars™ — coordinating with licensors for art approval while meeting retailer specs

  • Redesign of the monthly subscription box, which led to a 22% reduction in packaging materials and about a 20% decrease in material costs

  • Private label and retail-exclusive lines for Kohl's, Hobby Lobby, Macy's, and Target™ — each with unique packaging requirements

  • Seasonal and holiday packaging developed on tight timelines with high visual impact

  • FDA compliance review for food products including nutrition facts panels, allergen labeling, and ingredient declarations

  • Prototype review and approval for all new packaging structures before production release

What Makes This Work

Good packaging is equal parts brand storytelling and operational precision. I approach every packaging project with both in mind — making sure it looks great on shelf, has consumer appeal, and holds up through the supply chain. My role bridges creative direction and production realities, which means fewer revisions, faster timelines, and better outcomes.
